The new building for Fundación Sorigué will not be an iconic museum. It will embody the humanistic philosophy of the initiators. It will be a generous building with a strong physiognomy. The emphasis of the design is to facilitate the social beliefs of the foundation and to express its professional commitment.

The design sets out to provide an open interaction between the public spaces and the privacy of the activities of the Fundación. In this sense, the building will be inviting as well as enclosing. The different elements of the program are organized beneath a big roof that hovers at the treetops height.

Subsequently, a series of public spaces is defined and animated by the program, succeeding from the scale of the park, to the verandas below the roof. These verandas can be closed off at night and therefore offer the possibility of placing art in the outside spaces. This sequence from the very public to the uttermost private is continued inside the building.

The warehouse and the exhibition spaces inside the project play an interactive game, which allows for inclusive and exclusive encounters with the collection’s works.
