The attic of a historic building, strongly characterized by the shape of the roof and by the articulation of the plant around a central court, is transformed into a bright and welcoming apartment thanks to few and simple devices.

The demolitionofa couple of wallsand, simultaneously, the design of aretractablepartition, amplify the space, returning a spatialperception that is widerthan the actual available surface. The light comes from the openings of the patio, a skylight and the windows facing the street behind.
Themain dormitoryextends intoa second living room, having also a small loftthat canbe turned into a studio.

By enlarging a window, is given access to a small outdoor area that, thanks to its optimal orientation, is designed as a solarium.
