The project defines the arrangement of the Genoese exhibition Fair by suggesting a differentiated treatment according to the volumes involved in the transformation.

Depending on the compression or decompression of the interstitial spaces between the buildings, a different façade solution is adopted, aimed at making possible the coexistence of functions that would otherwise end up in conflict especially during the seasonal peaks of affluence related to the public activities hosted in the exhibition spaces.

The large volume of S Pavilion is transformed into a new indoor sports hub, becoming a centre of excellence that can also combine specialized commercial activities; the housing blocks are arranged so as to be able to fully benefit from the presence of the extended tourist dock, while two new towers will cover the needs of new hotels.

Particular attention has been paid to the pedestrian and vehicular traffic system, since it’s only by using complex sections that resolve the nodes of the respective networks in delicate ways that the two areas can coexist fruitfully.
