The project involves the redevelopment of a residual, empty space, located at the intersection of two roads, into the fabric of the city of Casablanca.

It’s a small triangular square, without urban quality, whose only value is to be a gap between the dense blocks of the district.

The program announcement requires the construction of a covered market and a series of flexible spaces for temporary activities, such as festivals and public events, as well as some fixed services, such as storage areas, public toilets and a cafe.

The project idea is to double the ground, creating a concrete slab that has the same shape of the triangular block: ground areas are organized for the market, while, above, other temporary activities can find space.

The element that gives continuity to the project is the volume of the cafeteria that connects the basement level which houses the toilets and storerooms, the zero level and the flyover.

The items of furniture, such as benches, are designed for a dual use: as counter for the market or sitting to rest in the shade.
