The subject of this volume, organized as a compendium of four lectures on comparative anatomy is in fact the human body in architecture, or rather, the idea that over the last 20 centuries, man has built around his own body, each time he has to deal with the need to build his own architectural space.

A space is given only in the moment in which a body occupies it, despite the fact that, some of the characteristics of the space are unrelated to the subject placed in it and, in some way, conditioning their existence.

What, then, occupies the space? A body capable of indicating a direction through a gesture, to define an area through a rotation, to demarcate and orient the space itself.
